Tver State Medical University

Tver State Medical University (TSMU), established in 1936, is a public medical university in Tver, Russia. It is one of Russia’s top 10 medical universities and is recognized by major international bodies, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India, making its medical degrees valid globally.

Academics and Faculties

TSMU offers a variety of medical programs, with the primary program for international students being the MBBS (General Medicine). The university has a strong emphasis on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills and research.

MBBS Program: The program is 6 years long, with 5 years of academic study and a mandatory 1-year clinical internship. The medium of instruction for international students is English.

Other Faculties: TSMU also has faculties for Dentistry, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, and Advanced Nursing Education, along with various postgraduate programs.

Admission and Eligibility

The admission process for international students is straightforward and based on academic merit.

Academic Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 12th-grade or equivalent examination.

NEET Score: For Indian students, a qualifying score in the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is mandatory.

Age: The minimum age for applicants is 17 years old.

Documents: Required documents generally include academic transcripts, a valid passport, a medical fitness certificate, and the NEET scorecard.

Fees and Accommodation

TSMU is considered an affordable option for international students. The fees are subject to change, but a general breakdown is as follows:
Tuition Fees: The annual tuition fee for the MBBS program is approximately $4,000 to $4,500 USD (around 4,30,000 Russian Rubles).

Hostel Fees: The university provides on-campus hostel facilities for students. The annual hostel fee ranges from $500 to $800 USD (around 15,000 Russian Rubles), with options for government-run or private accommodations. The rooms are typically shared by 2-3 students and are fully furnished.

Other Costs: There are additional one-time charges in the first year for administrative fees, medical insurance, and visa registration. The overall cost of living in Tver is relatively low.
